BBC: A brief history of time zones

Interface, interaction, behaviour, visual design & asset creation.

I was commissioned by the BBC to design this interactive infographic exploring the often bizarre history of international time zones.

I was responsible for all the design & interaction of the piece, from building working prototypes in Flash to creating the finished design, the programming was carried out in-house.

This flash based interactive globe contains amazing stories & video reports from around the world.

The globe itself was created from a series of 25 flat graphics, the plotting & figuring out of the timezones divisions turned out to be the greatest challenge of all.

Working closely within the BBC GEL guidelines, a simple engaging experience was achieved, backed with support from TV & Radio, this was a great success.
